FREE REGISTRATION NO CHARGES - NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN CHENNAI

Sub:   A two day National Conference on “QUALITY ASSURANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION & ROLE OF STAKE HOLDERS” on Friday & Saturday, the 22nd &  23rd February 2013- Invitation for participation & presentation of paper  reg;
 We are glad to inform you that we, Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain College for Women, Chennai – 7 (conducted by Shree Mahaveer Jain Kalyan Sangh) in association with the Tamilnadu State Council for Higher Education organizing A TWO DAY NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “QUALITY  ASSURANCE IN   HIGHER EDUCATION & ROLE OF STAKE  HOLDERS”, as an annual event.
The students and eminent faculty and top Management Members from various Universities / Affiliated colleges located all over India are invited to participate in the Conference.  Several reputed dignitaries and experts will join and motivate the participants.
On this occasion we invite Student as well as faculty delegates of your Institution to present paper in our Conference on any one of the following sub-themes.
Main Theme of the National Conference 
                                                                             
“QUALITY ASSURANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION & ROLE OF STAKE HOLDERS”
Session – I  :              LIFE-ORIENTED CURRICULUM, ACTIVITY BASED TRAINING & 
                                    UPDATED INFRASTRUCTURE
Session–II:     TEACHER-LEARNER SKILLS, EVALUATION SYSTEMS, 
                            EXTENSION   SERVICES & GLOBAL EMPLOYABILITY
Session – III :   APPROPRIATE POLICIES FOR EXPANSION, GOVERNANCE,           
                            COST-EFFECTIVENESS & CREDIBILITY OF INSTITUTES
Delegates who are interested in presenting papers are requested to follow the guidelines given below:
Papers can be presented by Faculty Team and Students Team separately.  Each Technical Session will have 4 Papers Presentation (2 by Faculty & 2 by Students’ Teams).
1.      The Paper should be computer printed (Two Copies) with clear identification of the Team mates (Photos), Certified by the institution / Department Head and sent to us preferably in Floppy / CD to reach us positively before 28th January 2013.
2.      Names of participants, their addresses (postal, e-mail, tele Nos., mobile etc.) should be clearly indicated for further communication.
3.      The teams whose papers are selected by Evaluation Committee for presentation, will be communicated by 7th February 2013, so that they can make arrangements for Travel to Chennai for presentation of the paper at the conference on 22nd & 23rd FEBRUARY 2013.
4.      Papers selected are eligible for presentation in the conference proceedings.
5.      All conference  papers may be submitted to the following address:

6. An overhead projector and a LCD projector with power point software will be  available for presentation of papers.
7.The Paper can be presented by a Team of 3 Students or a separate team of 2 Faculty Members.
8.Total presentation time for each Paper will be 20 minutes including time of 5 minutes for discussion.
9.PRIZES / AWARDS / HONORARIUM / CERTIFICATES
a)      Each Best Paper Presenting Students’ Team and Faculty Team in the entire conference (all the 3 technical sessions) as judged by experts, will be presented a cash prize of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) and a shield with certificates.
b)     The Second Best Paper Presentation Team in the conference is to be awarded a cash prize of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) and a Cup with certificates respectively to Students and Faculty Teams separately.
c)      The Best Paper presented in each Technical Session (if not qualified for First & Second Prize – (a) & (b) above) will be each awarded Rs.1,500/- (Rupees One thousand five hundred only) with certificates, again separately for Students and Faculty Teams.
d)     All other teams presenting the paper at the conference after Selection who do not qualify to get any of the above Prizes (a, b or c) as above will be given a Honorarium Award of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only) per Team with certificates. 
e)      Each college can send only one team consisting 3 students and one team of 2 Faculty Members presenting the paper.  Two faculty members can accompany them.
10. A second class train fare with lodging and boarding facilities will be arranged for selected paper presenter only on their request.
11. All the Team mates, whose Papers are received by 28.01.2013 in the prescribed format and relevant to any of the Sub-Themes but not selected for Presentation at the conference are eligible to participate in the conference without any registration charges.  They have to bear the cost of Travel, Conveyance etc.  However, ordinary and sharing Accommodation (if requested in advance) with Food & Refreshments will be provided during the conference by the Host institution.  Participation certificates will also be given to the team mates.
 12. REGISTRATION AS DELEGATES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE
 A team of maximum 3 students with a guide or a Team of 2 Faculty representing a College / University can attend as delegates in the conference, and must be authorized / sponsored by their institution.  They have to make their own arrangements for the Travel, Conveyance etc.  Assistance can be provided for arranging accommodation of their choice, on advance request, subject to availability.
Each outstation delegate will be required to send registration fees of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) each for participation in the conference.  Food & Refreshments will be provided by us during the conference.
Note:  For Arranging ordinary type of sharing accommodation Rs. 1,500/- (Rupees One thousand five hundred only) per delegate for the conference, may be sent extra, along with the registration fees.
a) Those desirous of participating in the conference as delegate will have to register before 07.02.2013 (for outstation delegates) and 10.02.2013 (for Chennai based delegates) Advance Registration is compulsory for participation by city college students or Faculty (No Registration charges).  However, each institution can send maximum 10 delegates only, who are not presenting papers.
