“Doctoral Colloquium” on 25th October 2013

The Department of Management Studies, Easwari Engineering College, Chennai is organizing a “Doctoral Colloquium” on 25th October 2013. The Doctoral Colloquium is intended for doctoral students at the early stage of their dissertation research. The Colloquium will be highly interactive and will include a variety of panels as well as, practical sessions on developing dissertation proposals and launching academic careers.

Colloquium will provide doctoral students the opportunity to share their research and get feedback from the academic community and engage with one another in a setting that is relatively informal but that allows for the fullest of intellectual exchanges.

The Colloquium will cover aspects such as Defining & Fine Tuning the Problem, Need and Importance of Structural Equation Modeling and Report Writing.

CSCD – A unit of Hindustan Institute of Management & Computer Studies is organizing two days workshop on “Counseling skills and Identification of early unhealthy Psychological symptoms”.

The main focus of this workshop will be on day to day growing acute Psycho-Somatic and Psychological problems of the students such as constant headache, deteriorated scholastic performance, poor span of attention, suicidal ideation/ attempted suicide particularly after examinations, neurotic behavior, stealing/gambling/pervasive behavior, possession and use of illegal weapons even on minor issues, use of drugs, running away from home/ institution etc. All these Psycho-somatic and Psychological problems may be because of various reasons which can be identified and discussed during the workshop.  

In such a scenario the role of educational institution becomes very important in socialization process of a student. Hence, teachers need to be trained in counseling skills.
